Zac Brygel is an Australian teacher who has spent six years teaching in Australian Primary and Secondary schools, whilst also tutoring privately. Since the large-scale emergence of generative AI in schools and the workplace, Zac realised that schools are not properly equipped to:
Zac’s intention is simple – to fill these gaps by providing targeted, research-based AI workshops for teachers, and by developing a wide range of relevant, practical AI software solutions for students, parents, and teachers.
The story about Donum Education begins with the name itself. Donum comes from the Latin word “gift,” and for Zac it reflects the belief that education is one of the greatest gifts a student can receive. Education is not a shortcut or a transaction. Instead, education should build confidence, discipline, curiosity, and a lifelong love of learning.
The name Donum honours Zac’s grandfather Don, a lifelong learner whose humility, curiosity, discipline and love of learning helped shape Zac’s values and outlook on education.
Don is believed to be named after cricket legend Sir Donald Bradman, which adds further meaning to the name. Ultimately, Don’s great example inspires us to strive for excellence with every teacher and student we support.
